Keiki are also invited to learn about growing a garden and can pot up an additional plant to take home.

During the event, the annual Malama I ka Aina Award will be presented by Maui Invasive Species Committee, Maui Association of Landscape Professionals, and the County of Maui. This year, the Garden Expo and Tree Giveaway is a merging of two events – Maui Nui Botanical Gardens’ Arbor Day 1,000 Hawaiian Tree Giveaway and the Maui Association of Landscape Professionals’ Maui Garden Expo.

This event is sponsored by Maui Electric Company, the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, Maui Association of Landscape Professionals, the Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program, the Maui County Farm Bureau, ISI Hawaii, and the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens.
