Community & Education
Our connection to our customers and our commitment to build a better future for Hawaii is what drives our community service initiatives. Each year, we aim to strengthen our ties with the community through increased outreach activities and partnerships. Here are some activities that we support or are involved with, as well as photo galleries from past events.
Hawaiian Electric also sponsors numerous educational programs and partners with government, and community organizations to reach children of all ages on topics related to energy, renewable energy, technology, engineering, math, science, emergency preparedness, electrical safety, the environment and more. Our combined commitment to education reaches more than 65,000 students and teachers each year.
At Hawaiian Electric, we strive to work with our communities to achieve a renewable energy future. Through volunteerism, financial support, and pursuing innovative initiatives, we will protect our aina, build community capacity and become a world leader in sustainability.
Throughout the year, volunteers from Hawaiian Electric participate in various events in support of our community.
Occasionally our Fleet Department will hold a silent auction for retired vehicles in Maui County and on Hawaii Island.
