The Maui Regional Science Olympiad (MRSO) was established in 2011. It operates under the umbrella of the Hawaii State Science Olympiad (HSSO) which was founded in 2004. The HSSO is a grassroots non-profit organization associated with the National Science Olympiad Program. HSSO is dedicated to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. The MRSO’s mission is aligned with that of the HSSO.
