- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Combine 1 1/2 cups of the dry brownie mix with the butter.
- Press into a 9 x 9x 2-inch pan.
- In large bowl of electric mixer, beat cream cheese at medium speed until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Stir in remaining brownie mix, chocolate syrup and cream.
- Beat until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Pour over crust.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until set.
- Cool.
- Spread pie filling or fresh fruit on top.
- Chill several hours before serving.
