- Preheat electric oven to 300°F.
- In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and oats.
- Mix well and set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, blend sugars.
- Add butter and mix well.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add flour mixture, nuts, and chocolate chips; blend at low speed just until combined--do not over mix.
- Using a medium-sized ice cream scoop, drop dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
- Immediately transfer cookies to cooling rack.
