- Combine flour, poultry seasoning, salt and black pepper to taste in a shallow bowl.
- Beat eggs and milk together in a separate shallow bowl until smooth.
- Mix panko, Romano cheese, and 1 teaspoon black pepper together in another shallow bowl.
- Scoop stuffing and roll into 14 balls, about 2 tablespoons each.
- Using your index finger make an indention in the center of ball.
- Insert a cheese cube, and pinch together stuffing to seal.
- Repeat with remaining balls.
- Dredge each ball through flour mixture, followed by egg mixture, and finish with panko mixture making sure it is evenly coated.
- Set aside and let sit to allow breading to set.
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350°F.
- Carefully place 4 to 5 stuffing balls into hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 4 minutes; transfer to a paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon.
- Repeat with the remaining stuffing balls.
Makes about 14 balls.
