Homemade Peanut Butter

Ingredients:

Homemade Peanut Butter

  • 2 cups roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more as needed
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil or other oil (optional, for creamier peanut butter)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or other sweetener (optional, for sweeter peanut butter)

Directions:

  1. Place peanuts in a food processor, and process for 1 minutes.
  2. Use spatula to loosen mixture from the sides of the bowl if the mixture is sticking.
  3. Then continue to process until completely smooth, about 2-3 more minutes.
  4. Add salt, oil and honey one tablespoon at a time if desired.
  5. Process for 1 minute.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container, cover and refrigerate until use.
  7. Peanut butter should keep for 3-4 weeks in the refrigerator.
  8. Stir each time before using.

Makes 1-1/2 cups.
