- 4 strips bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 large bitter melon, seeds removed and sliced
- 1/8 cup dashi (Japanese soup base)
- Cooked shredded pork
- 1 block tofu
- Black pepper (to taste)
