- 14 to 15 Roma (plum) tomatoes, quartered
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 medium onion, minced
- 2 bell peppers (optional), chopped
- 1 lb ground beef (optional)
- 1/3 cup dried oregano leaves
- 1/3 cup dried sweet basil leaves
- 1/3 cup dried parsley flakes
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried tarragon leaves
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste (optional)
