Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients:

Peanut Butter Bars

  • 1/2 cup white corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)

Frosting:

  • 1 package (6 ounces) butterscotch chips
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 2 heaping tablespoons powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  2. In a large saucepot, bring corn syrup and sugar to a low boil, then add peanut butter and blend well.
  3. While syrup is hot, add rice cereal.
  4. Mix well and pat into prepared pan.
  5. For the frosting, melt the butterscotch chips, milk and butter in a microwave-safe bowl.
  6. Add powdered sugar; blend well and spread over bars.
  7. Cool and cut into bars.

Makes 24 bars.
