Pineapple Nut Bars

Ingredients:

Pineapple Nut Bars

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 can (20 oz size) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat electric oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Sift flour, salt, and baking soda; add to mixture alternately with the pineapple.
  6. Stir in nuts.
  7. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool; cut into 2 x 1/2-inch bars.
  9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Makes 3 dozen bars.
