Short Ribs Delight

Ingredients:

Short Ribs Delight

  • 3 pounds beef short ribs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons wine or liquor
  • 3 tablespoons shoyu
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  1. Season meat with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in large saucepot or Dutch oven.
  3. Brown short ribs; drain excess oil.
  4. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over short ribs.
  5. Cover, bring to boil, and simmer until tender (about 1 to 1 1/2 hours), stirring occasionally.

Makes 6 servings.
