Strawberry and Cream Cheese Cobbler

Ingredients:

Strawberry and Cream Cheese Cobbler

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pints strawberries, washed and capped (cut large pieces in half)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons sugar for sprinkling

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Pour butter in 9"x13" baking pan.
  3. Place strawberries in pan in a single layer.
  4. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add egg and milk.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Pour over strawberries.
  8. Place cream cheese on top of strawberries and mixture.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 8 servings.
