Utility work to affect Kamehameha Highway traffic in Hauula
Project starts Monday, July 18, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

HONOLULU, July 14, 2022 - Hawaiian Electric crews will temporarily relocate utility poles and overhead lines along Kamehameha Highway in Hauula to allow for construction in the Kaipapau Stream Bridge replacement project. Crews will be working off the roadway starting Monday, July 18; lane closure starts Tuesday, July 26.
Contractors will be digging holes for the new poles along the shoulder of Kamehameha Highway between Imua Place and Pipilani Place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, to Friday, July 22. No lane closures are planned for the week.
A lane closure is needed 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, to Thursday, July 28, as crews install poles and other equipment. Traffic will be contraflowed.
Traffic cones will alert motorists ahead of the work zones where multiple bucket trucks will be staged, and flagmen will direct traffic.
Motorists should drive with caution when approaching and passing the work area and expect traffic delays.
