Sun Power for Schools
Maui High School
Maui High School became the 5th school in Maui Electric's Sun Power for Schools program with a photovoltaic system. Their system was installed on March 19, 2008, atop the school Music Center (Building J). This small system is expected to produce about 2030 Kwh annually.
System details:
- Total peak rating of 1.5 kilowatts (kW)
- Nine (9) Sharp 167 watt poly-crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules
- One (1) SMA Sunny Boy 1800U inverter
- DC and AC disconnection switches
- Data acquisition system (Data collection can be monitored and analyzed by students as part of integrated renewable energy lessons.)
