Asian Pork Sliders

Ingredients:

Asian Pork Sliders

  • 1 1/2 pounds coarsely ground pork (96% lean)
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 1 large garlic clove, peeled and finely grated
  • 1 stalk green onion, trimmed and minced
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium shoyu
  • 2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 6 whole-wheat hamburger buns
  • Spicy Asian Slaw (see additional recipe)
  • Sriracha (Thai hot sauce; available in the Asian section of local supermarkets)

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the pork, ginger, garlic, green onions, shoyu, sesame oil, and corn starch.
  2. Shape into 6 patties.
  3. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook the pork patties to until completely cooked and golden on both sides, about 7 minutes total.
  4. Serve on whole-wheat bun, topped with Spicy Asian Slaw and Sriracha, if desired.

Makes 6 servings.
