Barbequed Short Ribs

Ingredients:

Barbequed Short Ribs

  • 3 tablespoons salad oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 pounds short ribs, cut into serving pieces
  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil.
  2. Add garlic and short ribs; brown ribs well on all sides.
  3. Put ribs into a large casserole; cover with sliced onions.
  4. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs.
  5. Cover and bake at 350°F for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.

Makes 6 servings.

To cook the ribs in a slow cooker:

  1. After browning the ribs, place it in a slow cooker, on top of the sliced onions.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
