Basil Butter

Ingredients:

Basil Butter

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped shallots
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 ounces butter, room temperature

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together, using a spatula or wooden spoon, and make in to a paste.
  2. Put butter into a piece of plastic wrap and roll to make a log.
  3. Refrigerate to solidify.
  4. Slice and serve on top of protein or store in freezer.

Makes 1/4 cup.

Tip: Basil has delicate leaves, so chop them slowly and carefully or else they will turn black in color.
