Corned Beef Mash Patties

Ingredients:

Corned Beef Mash Patties

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups instant mashed potato flakes (such as Betty Crocker Potato Buds)
  • 1 can (12 ounces) corned beef OR 2 cups chopped cooked fresh corned beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 round onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sake (rice wine)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions:

  1. In a saucepot, heat water and milk.
  2. Add instant mashed potato flakes, mix well and set aside.
  3. In large mixing bowl, combine corned beef, egg, onion, sugar, salt, and sake.
  4. Add mashed potatoes; use a fork to mix all ingredients together.
  5. Shape into patties and pan fry until browned on both sides.

Makes 6 servings.
