Green Lady Popcorn

Ingredients:

Green Lady Popcorn

  • 8 cups of popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons green food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F.
  2. Place popcorn in a large baking dish.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  4. Stir in sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
  5. Bring to a boil while stirring consistently.
  6. Boil without stirring for 4 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and green food coloring until the mixture is evenly colored and combined.
  8. Stir in baking soda.
  9. Mixture will double.
  10. Pour mixture over popcorn and stir to coat.
  11. Place popcorn in oven.
  12. Stir popcorn every 15 minutes for 1 hour.
  13. Remove from oven, let cool, break into pieces, and serve in small paper bags.
