Hawaiian Style Salsa
- 1 cup chopped fresh sweet green chili peppers, available at farmers markets and Chinatown
- 1 Maui onion, chopped
- 1 (16-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, including liquid or 1 pound fresh tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
- 3 tablespoons chopped green onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon habanero (hot chili) powder
- 2 teaspoons dried Hawaiian chili peppers, crushed
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
