Ingredients:

Lavosh

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup poppy or sesame seed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Preheat electric oven to 350°F.
  2. Lightly grease or spray baking sheets.
  3. In large bowl of electric mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and poppy or sesame seed.
  4. Heat butter and buttermilk; add to flour mixture and mix well.
  5. Form dough into 3 or 4 balls and roll each ball into a 12-inch cylinder.
  6. Place each cylinder on a prepared baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap.
  7. Flatten each cylinder and roll to 1/16-inch thickness.
  8. Using a pizza cutter, cut each sheet into strips, or desired serving pieces.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Make 3 to 4 sheets.
