- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Coat a 16x11x1-inch pan with cooking spray.
- In an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar.
- Add egg and pumpkin; beat well.
- In a separate bowl, sift flour with baking soda and spices.
- Stir into creamed mixture.
- Add dates and nuts; mix well.
- Spread in prepared pan.
- Bake for 16 to 18 minutes.
- Combine remaining ingredients.
- Spread over bars while hot.
- When completely cool cut into small bars.
Makes 6-1/2 dozen.
