Quick and Easy Chocolate Chip Scones
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar (use 3/4 cup for sweeter scones)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 stick salted butter
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla

Heat oven to 425°F. Coat baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Cut butter into dry ingredients. Combine chocolate chips into mixture. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Stir well. Mixture should be a little drier than cookie dough. Drop by large spoonful of dough onto baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes then cool for 10-15 minutes. Do not over bake. Tops of scones should be light brown and may be soft to the touch. Scones will harden as they cool. Serves 12.
