Slow Cooker Pork Stew

Ingredients:

Slow Cooker Pork Stew

  • 3 pound pork butt
  • Garlic salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups yellow potatoes, quartered
  • 1 medium sweet onion, quartered
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (1⅛ ounce) packet NOH brand Vinha D’alhos seasoning mix
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 medium carrots, large chop
  • 3 sticks of celery, large chop
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch to thicken

Directions:

  1. Lightly season pork butt with Garlic salt and black pepper. Set aside.
  2. Place potatoes and onions in slow cooker.
  3. Place pork butt on top.
  4. Sprinkle NOH seasoning packet over everything.
  5. Add water.
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours.
  7. Halfway through cooking time, add chopped carrots and celery.
  8. Mix cornstarch with water to create slurry, add to slow cooker to thicken gravy.
  9. Add brown sugar.
  10. Let stew cook for remaining time.
  11. Stir before serving.

Serves 6.
