Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp

Ingredients:

Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • Salad oil
  • Water
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 6 to 8 large shrimp, shelled and cleaned
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sliced onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Chinese parsley (coriander)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Directions:

  1. Heat a skillet over high heat.
  2. Stir-fry cabbage in a little oil and water for a few seconds; put on a serving plate.
  3. Heat 1½ tablespoons of oil over high heat, add garlic and shrimp; cook until garlic is lightly browned.
  4. Add pepper, onion, parsley, soy sauce, and a little water; stir-fry for 10 seconds.
  5. Pour over cabbage.

Makes 1 serving.

Tip: Chicken, pork, beef, calamari, scallops, or tofu may be substituted for the shrimp.
