- Bring a medium-sized pot of lightly salted water to boil.
- Add pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
- In a large saucepan, add oil and saute garlic and onions until onions are translucent on medium heat.
- Add tomatoes, oregano, parsley, black pepper, sugar and basil.
- Let it sit for 3-5 minutes, then reduce heat and let it simmer.
- Serve sauce on top of pasta and top with cheese.
