Sun Power for Schools
Naalehu Elementary and Intermediate School
On June 8, 2006, Naalehu Elementary and Intermediate School became the 22nd school to receive a Sun Power for Schools photovoltaic (PV) system. The 1.2 kilowatt PV system was installed on a covered walkway and will provide power to the school.
System Details:
- 1.2 kilowatt (kW) rated peak
- Seven (7) Sharp 170 watt NE-170U1 poly-crystalline modules
- Sunny Boy 1800U inverter
- AC and DC disconnects
- Fat Spaniel data acquisition system (wind speed and direction, PV output, irradiance, ambient air temperature)
