Helicopter to be used for transmission line inspections on Maui

KAHULUI, Aug. 24, 2023 – Hawaiian Electric will be conducting aerial line inspections today from noon to 5 p.m. and tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to survey transmission lines in West Maui, South Maui and Upcountry areas, weather permitting.
These inspections, conducted via helicopter, will help provide updated views of the island’s transmission lines and other electrical infrastructure in the above-named areas. In some areas, the aircraft may be required to fly low and slow which may cause temporary noise disturbances.
